Before you spend the evening on it, see where you actually fit.

Paste the advert, add your CV, and see which requirements you meet, which you are light on, and which you cannot evidence at all. No account, no card.

Paste the advert, add your CV, and see how well the two line up — scored against what the posting itself asks for, with the biggest thing you are missing named outright.

  • Neither is stored. The advert and your CV are read once to produce the result and gone when that request ends.
  • No account, no card. The score and the biggest gap are free.
  • It shows its working. Every point comes from a requirement in the advert you pasted, and anything we could not read is listed rather than guessed at.

Why this matters

Applying to everything is not a strategy.
Knowing which ones you can win is.

Most people apply to more jobs than they should and tailor none of them. The ones who get interviews do the opposite — fewer applications, each one obviously aimed at the posting in front of them.

01

A system reads words, not meaning

You may have done exactly what the advert asks for and called it something else. To a hiring system those are two different things, and the job goes to the person whose CV used the posting’s vocabulary.

The posting says “Stakeholder management” Your CV says “Worked with the business”
Same thing. Not the same words.
02

The gap is usually two lines, not two years

Most misses are a skill you have and never wrote down, not one you lack. That is a twenty-minute fix on a CV rather than a reason to skip the job — but only if somebody tells you which one it is.

A number you can argue with

Every point here traces back to a requirement in the advert you pasted. Where we could not read something, it is named and left out of the score rather than counted against you — so you can disagree with the result on the evidence.

And then what

Knowing the gap is free. Closing it for every job you apply to is the part that costs.

This page scores one CV against one posting. ATS Engine rewrites the CV for each one — built from experience you already have, in the posting’s own vocabulary, with every claim traced back to your own words.

It tailors, it does not invent

Every line in a rebuilt CV comes from something already on yours. It reorders, rewords and foregrounds — it never adds a skill you did not claim, because the first time a CV says something untrue in an interview, it is over.

Which version went where, what the posting said, what you scored, and what happened next. The thing nobody keeps up by hand past about the fifth application — and the reason the sixth week of a job search is so much worse than the first.

Before you ask

The questions people send us about this page.

Do you keep my CV or the advert?

No. Both are read once to produce your result and are gone when that request ends — neither is written to our storage. Your result is held for thirty minutes, or for twenty-four hours if you ask us to email it to you, so the link in that email has something to open. After that it is deleted too.

Is this the same score ATS Engine uses?

It is the same idea and the same shape — what the posting must have, what it would like, and length of experience — and it reads both documents with the same parsers the product uses. But subscribers can weight those criteria to suit their own recruiting, so the number inside the product can differ from the number here. Neither is more correct; they are answering slightly different questions.

Why is my score lower than I expected?

Usually vocabulary rather than ability. This compares what the advert asks for against what your CV actually says, and a skill you have but never wrote down counts as missing — because that is exactly how a hiring system will read it. The full breakdown names every one, so you can see whether the gap is real or just unwritten.

What if you could not read the posting?

Then we say so and leave that part out of the score rather than guessing. A criterion we could not assess is listed under “what we could not compare” and its weight is removed from the total — so a score of 64 means 64 out of what could genuinely be judged. Scoring it zero would mark you down for our parsing problem; scoring it full marks would be worse, and is a mistake we have made before.

Do you rewrite my CV here?

No. This page tells you where the gaps are. Rewriting for a specific posting is what ATS Engine does for subscribers, along with keeping track of every application you have sent.
